
It's time to reveal the winner of the Augusta-area high school football player of the week poll for Week 5.
Grovetown quarterback Amare Clark took the top spot with 40.71 percent of the vote. Burke County quarterback Sean Vandiver (34.34) finished second and Thomson’s Kasai Jones (8.79) placed third.

Dallas Carter, Augusta Christian
Carter recorded two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown in Augusta Christian’s 34-14 win over Trinity Collegiate. Carter also caught a pair of touchdown passes on offense.
Ethan Evangelista, Harlem
Evangelista scored four times (twice passing, twice rushing) in Harlem’s 47-42 win over Aquinas.
Sean Vandiver, Burke County
Vandiver completed 10 of 15 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns in Burke County’s 49-17 win over Oconee County. Vandiver also rushed for 32 yards and a score on the ground.
Kasai Jones, Thomson
Jones recorded three receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown in Thomson’s 28-14 win over Laney. He also returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
Jim Franklin, Aquinas
Franklin completed 27 of 34 passing attempts for 309 yards and four touchdowns in Aquinas’ 47-42 loss to Harlem. He also added 16 rushing yards and a pair of scores on the ground.
Buddyrow Garrer, Aquinas
Garrer caught 12 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown in Aquinas’ 47-42 loss to Harlem.
Amare Clark, Grovetown
Clark completed nine of 20 passes for 182 yards, five touchdowns and an interception in Grovetown’s 63-43 win over Jefferson County. He also added 108 rushing yards and two more touchdowns on the ground.
