Results: Augusta high school softball, volleyball and cross country athlete of the week

It's time to reveal this week's winner for the Augusta-area high school softball, cross country and volleyball athlete of the week.

Richmond Academy’s Carolina Rivers took the top spot with 58.8 percent of the vote. Grovetown’s Maddy Harl (34.73) finished second and Alleluia Community School’s Halle Janik (5.89) placed third.

Adam Lippe, Westminster Schools of Augusta cross country

Lippe (16:15.52) took the top spot in the varsity boys’ race at the Dixie Headwaters Invitational in Donald, S.C. this weekend.

Halle Janik, Alleluia Community School volleyball

Janik recorded 33 kills, 18 aces and 128 assists in matches against Habersham School, Augusta Prep, the Augusta Eagles and Davidson Fine Arts over the weekend. She helped lead AC win gold at the Augusta Prep tournament.

Maddy Harl, Grovetown softball

Harl went 8-for-18 at the plate with a double and five RBI over five games against Brunswick, Harlem and Briarwood Academy (all wins). She also added 10 scoreless innings and five strikeouts from the circle, including a complete-game shutout over Harlem.

Kiki Hinton, Evans softball

Hinton went 4-for-8 at the plate with a home run, double and six RBI in games against Lakeside this week.

Carolina Rivers, Richmond Academy volleyball

Rivers recorded 29 kills, five aces and 17 digs in matches against Westminster Schools of Augusta, Statesboro and Greenbrier this week.
