One dead after crash on I-20 early Sunday

One person is dead after a fatal wreck Sunday on I-20 east at the Bobby Jones westbound exit.

At 3:40 a.m., the Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash on I-20 east, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Deputies learned a single vehicle struck an overpass bridge.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. The identity of the driver wasn't immediately released.

The traffic division is investigating the cause of the accident, according to the sheriff's office.
