COLUMBIA - The Audrain County prosecutor's office charged a Laddonia man with first-degree murder for the shooting death of a man found on a rural road near Vandalia. Christopher Brickey, 18, is also charged with armed criminal action. He is being held in the Audrain County Jail without bond, according to the Audrain County Sheriff's Office.

Person found dead near Vandalia, person of interest in custody
The Audrain County Sheriff’s Department is saying they’ve identified persons of interest but have not said any arrests have been made. The department released a statement late Thursday afternoon on Facebook with some details of the incident. Officers responded to a call of shots fired around 2 p.m. on Thursday along Audrain Road 556 near Vandalia. When officers arrived they found a deceased 23-year-old male lying along the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds.

The winner told officials he purchased the $20 “2,000,000 Sizzling Riches” tickets on a whim from the Mexico Fastlane on S. Clark Street. An Audrain County man is arrested for allegedly shooting a man in the leg during a fight. The Mexico Public Safety Department says officers were called to the 200 block of South Alabama in reference to a disturbance and shooting around 4:30 Sunday afternoon. When officers arrived on the scene, they learned that several people from two different houses had been arguing, and the argument escalated into a physical fight. During the fight, one man, Kyle Parrish, 37, of Mexico, allegedly pulled out a gun and shot another man in the leg. The gunshot victim, a 38-year-old Mexico man, was taken to University Hospital and admitted for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
