The Auburn football program is striving to develop a top recruiting class of 2024, going hard after the most highly-ranked recruits in the state of Alabama and the southeast region. The summer weekends are full of official visitors making their way to the Plains to get a closer look at the program, getting to know the coaching staff and seeing the facilities.

Also taking place this month are a multitude of camps, where players visit with their schools for 7-on-7 camps and to show off their skills in others like the Elite Camp. Clay Chalkville High was on campus this week for a 7-on-7, and 4-star ATH Mario Craver got the chance to compete on the Plains.

Craver, who is being recruited to the Auburn football program as a wide receiver, is ranked as the #228 overall recruit and #36 wide receiver in the recruiting class of 2024. He is the #14 recruit out of the state of Alabama, and has received nearly 30 offers from programs around the country.

The young athlete got to show off his football skills to the coaching staff, but they also got to see him in a role as a leader with his teammates, according to Auburn Rivals:

"“Them seeing the leader part of me and them actually believing in me more as a leader other than a player, that’s what he was just talking to me about,” Craver said about his conversation with Auburn receivers’ coach Marcus Davis."

Craver noted that the two schools pursuing him the hardest at the moment are Auburn and Florida, and he has a 247 Sports Crystal Ball Prediction to land at Florida. However, he and several of his Clay-Chalkville teammates are building bonds with head coach Hugh Freeze, and the On3 Sports Recruiting Prediction Machine forecasts Craver as an Auburn Tiger.

The wide receiver plans to make a final decision ahead of his senior season after taking official visits this summer.
