Looking at the background history between Auburn, Oklahoma, and Texas
Auburn hasn't met up with Texas and Oklahoma all that much throughout history, but it has happened a few times.
These two teams are set to join the SEC in 2024, so the matchup between the Auburn Tigers and these two football teams is set to happen much more often.
What does the history between these two ball clubs look like?
Stat of the day:
Auburn history against Texas:
Auburn has met up with Texas eight times, with the most recent being in 1991, where Auburn won 14-10. Texas leads the all-time series five games to three. Auburn has won two straight against the Longhorns and will look to keep that streak alive the next time these two meet.
Auburn history against Oklahoma:
Auburn has met up twice with the Sooners and has yet to pull out a victory. The most recent meeting was in 2017 when Oklahoma beat Auburn in the Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma won this game 35-19 behind the arm of Baker Mayfield and his two biggest weapons, Joe Mixon and Mark Andrews.
What does this mean?
This means Auburn has some revenge to seek as they have losing records with both of the new teams joining the SEC.
We should hopefully see a matchup with one of these teams in 2024, which will be a blast.
We will figure out the 2024 SEC schedule in a few days, so it will be exciting to see Auburn get to take on these historic programs on the gridiron.
