Classic warbird to be unveiled Saturday in Atwater

ATWATER, Calif. (FOX26) — Warbird enthusiasts will soon get the chance to feast their eyes on a classic plane in Atwater.

According to the Castle Air Museum, an unveiling of the Grumman A-6E Intruder will take place at the museum on Saturday around 10 a.m.

That warbird, the museum says, is the last of its kind as other models were scrapped back in 2017.

The museum also mentioned that Greg Smith, the last to fly the Intruder, will also be at the event on Saturday.

The Grumman A-6E Intruder was brought to the Castle Air Museum in Atwater earlier this month and is also featured in the 1991 film “Flight of the Intruder” starring both Willem Dafoe and Danny Glover.
