Attala Deputies respond to a MVA on Hwy 35 S
At approximately 3:12 pm, Attala Deputies, EMS and Firefighters responded to a two car MVA at the intersection of Hwy 35 South and the Natchez Trace Parkway. As units were responding, traffic going over the bridge was stalled and caused a back-up. No injuries were reported.

Attala County School District Ranks Third in the State for the 3rd Grade Reading Assessment
The Attala County School District is one out of seven districts statewide to have 90% or more of 3 grade students to meet the Literacy-Based Promotion Act (LBPA) requirements. Scattered thunderstorms and warm temperatures on Mother's Day evening
It is feeling pretty toasty outdoors on this Mother's Day afternoon with temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s across North Mississippi right now. While many of us are seeing sunshine, there are a few scattered thunderstorms moving across the western portion of our viewing area, from Lafayette county all the way down to Attala county. These will begin to die down as the sun sets and the temperature decreases, leaving us with mostly clear skies overnight.
