The Mets lost to the Braves yet again on Wednesday night, blowing an early lead for the second consecutive game.

It seems as if that latest loss to Atlanta, a familiar sight for Mets fans over the past couple decades, finally broke Sal Licata.

“I’m sick and tired of watching them fall to this freaking Braves team that aren’t even as good as they were last year,” Sal said. “Forget Steve Cohen. The Atlanta Braves own the Mets. Will somebody on the Mets have some sack and do something about it for once! Please! I can’t stand it anymore!

“Are the Braves just that good and the Mets aren’t close to that level? I think that’s the answer.”

In an epic rant, Sal went off on the frustration of watching New York lose to its division rivals time and time again, saying it can’t even be considered a rivalry, because the Mets never win.

“It’s been going on for 30 years! Thirty years, this team has dominated the Mets!” Sal said. “The Mets have the richest owner in the sport, they come from the best sports town in this world, but yet the Braves own the Mets. How is that possible? Why do their guys put the bat on the ball in key spots? Why do their guys make the great plays and get the big out, but the Mets can’t despite having the highest payroll? Some things don’t change.

“The Braves have won 17 NL East titles since 1995, and the Mets have won two. That’s pathetic. The Mets are a pathetic franchise, that under new ownership, is trying to find their way out of that pathetic history. It’s still early, but they’re nowhere near that yet.”
