The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets are set to start a pretty important series on Tuesday with the Braves sending Bryce Elder to the mound to hopefully continue his fantastic work so far this season. Unfortunately, the first game of the series will not be starting on time as we are officially in a rain delay.

A quick look at the radar in the area shows a line of storms moving through although it doesn't look like it is something that should delay things TOO much. We will keep updated as we get more details and we have an actual start time for the game.

Update #1: So far, there has been no rain at Truist which has some wondering why there was a delay in the first place.

Update #2: Barring a change in the weather again, it looks like first pitch will be at 9 PM EST which makes this feel like another west coast game.

But while you are here....

Braves news while you wait for the rain to leave

It has been a fairly busy day for the site. First, the Braves called up Roddery Munoz before the game to help bolster the bullpen. Munoz is a live arm, although he has sure walked a whole lot of guys so far this season since being converted to the bullpen.

We also had a Braves trade in early June which is pretty exciting, although it does seem like more of a depth move. Atlanta sent some international bonus money to Tampa Bay in exchange for reliever Ben Heller who was promptly sent down to Gwinnett. Heller was an interesting reliever before injuries cost him a couple of seasons and the trade with the Rays underscores that the Braves seem very intent on getting this bullpen right and leaving no stone unturned.

That should keep you occupied for a bit, so sit back and relax as we wait for the weather to pass and hopefully get a new game start time before it gets too late.
