An Atlanta man drowned on an overnight fishing trip in west Georgia Friday morning, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

Game Wardens were notified that three men launched their boat on West Point Lake around 9 p.m. Wardens said they tied their boat under a bridge to fish.

Around 6 a.m., 58-year-old Reginald Keith Crane fell off the boat and went under. The two other men were able to pull him back onto the boat but he lost consciousness.

The two men started CPR and emergency responders attempted more life-saving measures on the way to the hospital, but Crane was pronounced dead on arrival.

The two other men on the boat have not been identified.

West Point Lake is a 25,900-acre reservoir on the Chattahoochee River and is a popular place for fishing.
