Potential Adrian Wojnarowski Replacement Drops Cryptic Post Amid ESPN Rumors

The sports world was shocked when longtime NBA insider and ESPN breaking news reporter Adrian Wojnarowski announced his retirement from the industry. Wojnarowski decided to leave the life of breaking news and become the general manager of the St. Bonaventure basketball program.

As such, a few names have circulated as options to replace him at ESPN, with Shams Charania and Chris Haynes being common names.

Another one is Jake Fischer, the Yahoo Sports NBA insider, although he has been labeled as more of a "dark-horse" option , per Sam Amico.

To stir the pot even more, Fischer dropped a cryptic post on X on Wednesday night, hours after Wojnarowski retired from ESPN.

In the recent episode of "Devine Intervention" with Dan Devine, Fischer mentioned it would be his last as a Yahoo reporter and his last article is coming soon.

"And… this was also my last podcast as a senior NBA reporter @YahooSports," Fischer wrote. "Next week, we’ll run my final article. Stay tuned."

What this means nobody knows.

However, fans immediately started guessing that Fischer could be on his way to ESPN to replace Woj.

"He going to ESPN isn't he," @superfine23 wrote on X. "He’s replacing Woj, calling it now!" @Jcigan wrote. "So he going ESPN then," @abdollar19 wrote .

Of course, the eyeball emojis came out as well.

There was also a perfect gif used to describe what has been going on.

There has been no indication yet from ESPN or Fischer. However, on the same day Wojnarowski retired from ESPN, Fischer announced his last article at Yahoo Sports is coming soon.
