Browns' Offensive Line Injuries Continue

The Cleveland Browns have to find a way to shore up their offensive line, and they need to do it in a hurry. Offensive tackles Jack Conklin, Jedrick Wills Jr. and Dawand Jones all had season-ending knee injuries last season.

Jones came back but injured his knee in the Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Conklin still not ready and Wills still working his way back, the Browns are relying on backups to protect quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Right now, they are down to their last two tackles in James Hudson III and Germain Ifedi. No moves have been made to resolve this issue.

General manager Andrew Berry has to recognize that the team’s biggest weakness right now is the offensive line while Watson has been pressured a whopping 44 times in two games.

The lack of movement could mean that both Conklin and Wills are close to returning to the lineup and the Browns are just trying to weather the early-season storm until they get back.

Nobody knows how long that will be, and the Browns need to win games now.

Conklin did participate fully in practice on Wednesday, but his status is still a game-time decision. Wills was limited, but also not ruled out.

If they can’t get on the field against the Giants this week, New York will bring constant pressure to force Watson into mistakes.

The Browns need these guys back now. Without them, this offense will struggle to maintain drives and score points.
