Rece Davis Names College Football Quarterback Who Will Be 'Sensational'

ESPN college football analyst Rece Davis recently joined the "College GameDay" podcast with a panel that included Pete Thamel and Ryan McGee.

All three college football guru's were reviewing the Week 3 slate, sharing insight on some of the biggest storylines. They spoke about the eventual firing of Billy Napier from Florida, the fall of Florida State, and more.

After they finished their tirade on the state of Florida, the crew transitioned the show into a positive setting.

Davis and the rest of the panel shared their thoughts on the current quarterback situation at Texas.

Following the injury of Quinn Ewers, which he suffered early in the game against UTSA in Week 3, fans got a chance to witness what the Arch Manning show looks like.

Manning led the Longhorns to a 56-7 blowout victory over the Roadrunners. He was handed the keys to the game in the second quarter and made his mark in both the pass and rush offense.

Given his dual-threat ability, Davis believes Manning will be a "sensational" quarterback.

"I love Arch," Davis said. "I think Arch is gonna be sensational. You guys know my infinity for the entire Manning family."

Manning finished the win over UTSA with four touchdowns and 223 passing yards, while completing 9-of-12 of his pass attempts. He also notched an impressive 53 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Longhorns are now 2-0, outscoring their opponents 108-7 throughout the first two weeks of college football.

While Manning will likely have to sit behind Ewers once he's healthy and wait until the 2025-26 season to be the starter in Austin, Davis and the "College GameDay" crew believe he's ready for the bright lights.

The matchup against UTSA was Manning's biggest test since he's been at the collegiate level and he passed with flying colors.
