It's been a long-standing fact that Aaron Rodgers and his family have not been on speaking terms over the last decade.

In Ian O'Connor's latest autobiography surrounding the quarterback, though, the reason behind the feud was not what many originally thought. In an excerpt from the book published by The Daily Mail, O'Connor explains that past comments made by actress Olivia Munn when she and the quarterback were dating caused the rift.

"Given her devout religious views, Aaron's mother disapproved of premarital sex and was opposed to her middle child sharing a hotel room with his girlfriend even as an NFL player," O'Connor wrote.

Future blowups between his parents and Munn further escalated the conflict and eventually led to Rodgers and his family cutting ties with one another.

Munn and Rodgers have since split up, and it appears that the quarterback and his father have begun to reconcile.

It's the first time Rodgers had come clean in regards to the reason for his family's split in the past. Over the years, his brothers and fathers both stated different reasons for the split without specifically referencing why the two sides stopped speaking to each other.

Whatever the true reason, it's clear that the two sides are finally about to have some of their dirty laundry aired out in the coming months. O'Connor's book "Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers" comes out on August 13th.
