Arian Smith shares sage advice for Kendall Milton, other injured Georgia Bulldogs

ATHENS — Arian Smith wasn’t sure if he was the fastest player on Georgia’s football team when asked on Tuesday night. He asked members of the media if that were still the case.

The reason there could be some debate as to if Smith is the fastest Bulldog alive is due to the many injuries he’s suffered since arriving in Athens. The Bradley, Fla., native missed time in each of his three seasons at Georgia, having three different surgeries on the same leg.

So when Kendall Milton picked up another injury of his own — a hamstring injury that will knock him out for the remainder of spring practice — Smith was the perfect teammate to give Milton some advice.

“Really focus on the time, like the present. I try not to think about the future or past. It happened,” Smith said. “Unfortunately, I’ve had three, so it happens a lot. I told K Milt earlier today, it happens man. My roommate Daijun (Edwards), he has been dealing with something too. Just keep your head straight, focus on the present and do what you can to be healthy.”

Smith has just 12 catches to this point in his Georgia career. He missed the start of last season due to a preseason ankle injury that required surgery. In 2021, he broke his leg.
