Police memorial honors fallen officers in St. Joseph
While recognizing National Police Week, law enforcement and community members came together Wednesday to recognize officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Hosted by the Fraternal Order of Police, the Police Officer’s Memorial has taken place in St. Joseph since 2000, honoring all the St. Joseph law enforcement officers who have lost their lives while serving.
Trinity Lutheran adds new little library

AFL-CIO in need of community's help
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) AFL-CIO Community Services is preparing to replace its Fab-U-Less Thrift Store pick-up truck, which is used for picking up large items. According to AFL-CIO Community Services Executive Director Nichi Seckinger, they are currently using a 2005 pick-up truck that is too small for some of their donation pick-ups and may be nearing the end of its road life. "Trying to haul small pieces of furniture or even big pieces of furniture in the back of a pick-up truck is pretty difficult," Seckinger said. "It wasn't unusual for our people to have to make multiple trips to one place to be able to get everything and so it was always kind of a wish that we would be able to get a box truck."
