Applications now open for SD Game, Fish and Parks youth deer hunt
South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks partners with the Missouri River Corridor Youth Hunt to offer a free first-time deer hunting opportunities for youth. The program is limited to four youth ages 10 to 15. Participants learn how to select the correct ammunition and firearm for deer hunting while learning firearm safety.
Pig Rescued Recently from the Big Sioux River Has Passed Away
Some sad news. The pig that was rescued last week from the banks of the Big Sioux River has passed away. Dakota News Now reports that a small pig was spotted on the banks of the Big Sioux on Thursday, (July 18) which prompted Sioux Falls Animal Control and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue to snap into action to perform a water rescue just north of Falls Park a short time later.

South Dakota awards $2M in grants for long-term care, but facilities sought $5M more
The South Dakota Department of Human Services recently awarded $2 million in grants for technology and equipment in the long-term care industry, which has been afflicted with closures and staffing shortages. Funding for the grants was approved by the Legislature and Gov. Over 200 bottles of alcohol seized from bootleg operation in Mission
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Authorities seized over 200 bottles of vodka, multiple firearms and around $1,000 from a bootleg operation on Friday morning. According to Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, a search warrant was served at a residence on the north side of Mission in partnership with the City of Mission Police Department.
