Guilty plea in drug trafficking, armed robbery & kidnapping case

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —
An Asheville man has been sentenced after entering a guilty plea in connection with a home invasion that happened in July of 2021.

On Monday, June 5, 2023, Tristen DeAndre McAfee, 22, pleaded guilty to trafficking in opium/heroin, armed robbery, 2nd-degree kidnapping and other felonies.
McAfee was arrested in September 2021 in connection with a home invasion that happened on July 27 on Ascension Drive.
During his arrest, officers seized an S&W M&P 15-22 rifle, a Glock 36 handgun, 11.7 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 9.6 grams of crack cocaine and $6,971. Additionally, authorities found that McAfee had multiple open warrants.

McAfee was sentenced to 5-nearly 8 years in prison and ordered to pay over $50,000 fine and costs.
