"My team showed a level of resilience today that I have really been looking for all year," said head coach Ross Cash. "This golf course is so hard, and we were playing in the late tee times that played the entire day in 20 miles-per-hour sustained winds, it's very exciting to see that growth and maturity. I knew today was gonna be very difficult from looking at the weather forecast so at the team meeting last night we FaceTimed with my friend Kathy Baker who played on the LPGA tour for 17 years and won the women's US Open in 1985. Winning a US Open is as much about survival and never stopping mentally as it is about golf itself. That's the case with The Devil's Elbow here in Hilton Head. The team was riveted to her words on champion type thought process and resilience and standing strong in adversity. I'm very proud of this group; we have two more days to go get after it."

The Bulldogs return to the course for day two of the tournament tomorrow (Saturday, Mar. 17). The first groups will go off at 8:32 a.m., with live results available at www.uncabulldogs.com
