Late Wednesday night, Thomasville firefighters responded to a multi-family, high-life hazard structure fire that has displaced 20 residents. At 10:28 p.m., firefighters were sent to 301 James Avenue. Police in the vicinity also arrived quickly and immediately began evacuating the involved and adjacent apartments. At 10:32 p.m., the first arriving fire officer confirmed a heavily involved structure fire with flames through the roof. The house is a two-story, eight-unit apartment building owned and operated by the Thomasville Housing Authority.

High Point police arrested a man accused of killing his girlfriend on Blair Avenue.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner, Mike Causey, will present Michael Taylor with a Save Award in Randleman, NC. The ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Taylor is being honored for his actions during a vehicle accident and fire on Sept. 4.

On November 8, 2023, John Charles Dubitz was arrested by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office Criminal Apprehension Team and the NC Probation and Parole. He was found in a driveway with methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and unidentified pills.

HIGH POINT — A section of the High Point Greenway remains closed indefinitely after it was damaged in a hit-and-run crash. A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu ran off Deep River Road and struck a wooden pedestrian bridge near Gordon Road around 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 24, according to High Point Police Department reports.

On October 18, 2023, a car theft was reported on Allred Street, Franklinville. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report. The victim told the officers that a witness saw a flatbed truck loading the stolen car. During the investigation, two neighbors said they spoke with John Christopher Sykes, who was at the scene in another car.
