MUKILTEO—The City of Mukilteo is inviting residents to participate in a public survey on renaming the Mukilteo Speedway (SR 525) from Beverly Park Road to 1st Street in Mukilteo. The survey will run until May 31st, providing an opportunity for the community to voice their opinions on potential new names for the main stretch of road in Mukilteo.

Seattle is now an air conditioning town
A changing climate has pushed the Seattle area over a threshold. For the first time, most homes in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties now have air conditioning. According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s latest biannual housing survey, 53% of homes in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties had air conditioning in 2021, up from 44% in 2019.
USPS working to reopen drive-up dropboxes
Drive-up mailboxes at multiple post offices in the county such as Monroe were broken into or vandalized in recent weeks, creating interruptions for drive-thru drop-offs. Outdoor boxes at the post offices in Monroe, Mill Creek, Stanwood, and the Everett postal center on Hardeson Road were affected, U.S. Postal Service spokeswoman Kim Frum confirmed.
