Fidelity Investments is planning to move its cryptocurrency and digital assets subsidiary to a new Boston address, reported the Boston Business Journal. New Bedford's Sunbeam Bread building clears hurdle for 37 apartments

NEW BEDFORD – A plan to convert the former Sunbeam Bread building’s second and third floors into 37 apartments has cleared a permitting hurdle. The sprawling property at 229-241 Coffin Ave. won Zoning Board of Appeals approval to make the change from storage space to apartments on Oct. 15. The bakery closed in 2005. The property’s first floor will continue to be used for commercial/retail. The proposal required a ZBA special permit determination that the benefit to the city and the neighborhood outweighs any adverse effects of the proposed use. The main benefit to the city is the housing provided , according to the owner/applicant. The initial plan included providing 16 parking spaces within a proposed interior garage area on the first floor. Developers added another 12 spots to the plan to bring the total to 28. Question 7: New Bedford, Fairhaven officials say ballot measure helps housing crisis What's next for the proposal The required number of parking spaces is 37, so the applicant/owner will be seeking a special permit from the Planning Board to allow the lesser number.
