Denton police are investigating a robbery report at WinCo Foods after an employee said two thieves assaulted him Sunday afternoon, according to a police report. At about 12:34 p.m., Denton officers responded to a disturbance at the grocery store located at 2645 W. University Drive. An employee who works in loss prevention said two people were stealing items and being difficult.

Multiple witnesses at Denton’s Milam Park reported Sunday that two teen boys pulled out what appeared to be pistols, according to a police report. The report states that officers believe this incident is related to an ongoing escalation of violence at the nearby Providence Place apartments because several parkgoers live at the nearby apartments.
Alleged drunk driver had spilled beer and handgun in car, police say
Officers found a handgun inside a 27-year-old man's vehicle, along with an open alcoholic drink, according to a Denton Police report. At about 2:15 a.m. Saturday, officers were patrolling the 100 block of Avenue A and stopped a vehicle.

Woman charged in drug overdose death of Kansas man
RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - A Texas woman has been arrested on a slew of drug charges. Dache Dijon Island Jones, 21, of Aubrey, Texas, was arrested Saturday evening. Jones was charged with distribution of a controlled substance resulting in fatality, distribution of opiate/opium/narcotic/stimulant/heroin dosage of less than 10 units, and the utilization of a communication facility in the commission of a felony drug violation. Jones' bond was set at $500,000.

Crews were dispatched to a working structure fire in the 9000 block of Blanco around 7:45 a.m., according to an ESD spokesperson. The fire was contained to the garage. The cause is under investigation.
