Say Cheese! Best Charcuterie Boards in Tallahassee!
Let’s face it—almost no one feels completely confident saying “charcuterie.” You may call it a cheese board, grazing board, snack board or even a “shark-coochie” board. Whatever name you use, it’s hard to resist a table filled with artisan cheeses, cured meats, crackers, fruit and other delicious extras. Charcuterie boards feel elegant without being overly formal, making them perfect for date nights, drinks with friends or sharing before dinner. You can certainly make a charcuterie board at home, but sometimes it’s more fun to let someone else assemble it. Here are some of the best places to find charcuterie and cheese boards in Tallahassee, plus two Thomasville restaurants worth the drive. Restaurant menus change frequently, so check the current menu before making a special trip.

Gourmet frozen banana shop, Nigel's Bananas coming to Tallahassee
A very a-peeling dessert shop known for its chocolate-dipped frozen bananas is coming soon to the capital city. Nigel's Bananas is planned for 699 W. Gaines St., formerly home to Bare Waxing in CollegeTown. It will sit next door to health-focused, fast-casual restaurant Natural Kitchen. According to the company’s website, the Seaside, Florida-based shop lists Tallahassee among its newest expansion sites in the Sunshine State, alongside another planned location in Winter Park. A timeline has not been posted. The company also plans to open other locations in Texas and Nashville. They currently operate in Seaside and Watersound, Florida. Nigel's Bananas all started with a dream and took root in 2020 with a pop-up, then turned into a storefront in 2021. The company's founder, Simon Sullivan, had a dream where he was told by his late father, Nigel, that "Bananas will play a significant role in your life." The site says Sullivan didn't know what it meant, but "dove into researching bananas, their many health benefits, and he ate them almost religiously! When the idea of crafting gourmet chocolate-dipped bananas came to life, the perfect name became obvious: Nigel's — a sweet tribute to the man whose words sparked it all!"
