St. Bernard Parish sheriff arrests man wanted out of Missouri for murder
The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a man who was wanted for murder out of Missouri.
Shane Ellzey, 42, was arrested Tuesday in Arabi.
Ellzey was wanted by Missouri State Highway Patrol for second-degree murder in Polk County, Missouri, according to Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
He was also wanted on charges of illegal possession of stolen things and two bench warrants out of St. Bernard Parish.
Pohlmann said they were notified Tuesday that Ellzey may be in the parish in a white 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck which was stolen from the victim.
Ellzey was seen around 7 p.m. in the Ford F-150 in Arabi.
Pohlmann said Ellzey was pulled over in the 6500 block of St. Claude Avenue and was taken into custody.
Ellzey was taken to the St. Bernard Parish Prison and booked.
He is being held on a $50,000 bond for the stolen property and bench warrants and has a detainer from Missouri and is awaiting extradition, according to Pohlman.
