Monday's Weather: Not as warm today with the chance for scattered rain
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible for the first half of the week but let me reassure you that this is NOT the same type of set up that led to numerous clusters of severe storms from last week. This morning we’re off to a mild and muggy start in the upper 60s to low 70s with partly cloudy skies. A few showers will be possible early today, but better coverage for our rain will be through the late morning and afternoon hours as a cold front pushes into the area. Some heavy rains and gusty winds will be possible within any storm, but overall severe threats for today are actually quite low. We’ll trend a bit cooler today as most will only warm into the mid 80s to near 90°. Scattered rain chances will continue for our Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures remain just slightly below average in the middle to upper 80s each afternoon. Rain chances drop back to near zero for Thursday and skies look to remain dry (for now) over the weekend as temperatures steadily climb back into the lower 90s.
