AdventHealth Apopka invests $8M to open new infusion center

APOPKA, Fla. — AdventHealth Apopka opened an infusion center late last month to offer the community a new location to receive intravenous medications and treatments.

The center is located within the hospital and is designed to treat a wide range of conditions, including cancer, autoimmune disorders.

“Opening this infusion center in Apopka increases the options for patients have to receive care at a place most convenient for them,” said Dr. Omayra Mansfield, chief medical officer at AdventHealth Apopka.

Hospital officials said prior to the opening of the infusion center, Apopka residents had to travel more than 10 miles to receive this type of medical care.

The center includes 17 infusion bays and two isolation bays as well as an on-site laboratory and pharmacy.

Hospital officials said AdventHealth invested $8 million into the center, which opened in late May.
