Offal Monitoring Pint Night at Black Spruce Brewing
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Public Lands Pint Night in Fairbanks on July 22nd!. It was a fantastic evening of great conversations and community at Black Spruce Brewing Company. We were excited to welcome wildlife researcher Dr. Ellen Candler at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and her graduate student Ian, who shared fascinating insights into Alaska’s scavengers, resource utilization relationships, and the important role that “offal” plays in supporting wildlife across the landscape. Thanks to everyone who came out, asked thoughtful questions, and helped make it such an engaging discussion. Events like these remind us that conservation starts with curious people coming together to learn from one another. A special thank you to Black Spruce Brewing Company for hosting us and for helping make this event possible.

Barbecue and the far north rarely mix. That contrast is exactly the fun here. Somebody is smoking meat low and slow up there. The aroma hits you before the door. Alaska pulls off Southern-style barbecue against all odds. Long winters make the comfort hit harder. Generous plates land before you even settle in.
