Michigan football has three consecutive players selected in the 2024 NFL draft

We knew that Michigan football was going to kill it in the 2024 NFL draft and we started to feel that for real on Friday night.

In the second round, the Wolverines had players go with back-to-back picks as Kris Jenkins went to the Chargers and Mike Sainristil went to the Redskins with No. 49 and No. 50.

However, Michigan football might have topped that in the third round as the Wolverines had not one or two, but three consecutive players picked in the third round. The run started with Blake Corum going to the Rams with the No. 83 overall pick. The Steelers followed that up by selecting Roman Wilson, who like Junior Colson, stayed on the clock for far too long.

Yet, my favorite pick of the night came next at No. 85 overall as the Cleveland Browns selected Zak Zinter. The Michigan football legend (Team 144 was filled with legends) suffered a torn ACL in the Ohio State game and missed the last three games of the season.

Zinter has been rehabbing like crazy though and showed himself working out last week. You knew some team was going to take a chance on him. I was hoping he would go on day two and the tape was too good for the Browns to pass him up.

Zinter should be able to play next season and he's going to a be future Pro Bowler. I believe that in my heart of hearts. Corum is going to be a massive steal too and it's hard to imagine the rest of the league allowing Sean McVay to get Blake Corum. He might win Rookie of the Year.

Wilson is another steal and will be catching passes from Roman Wilson in the Steel City. As far as the record, Michigan football had seven picks. They had four in the third round and are nearly halfway to the record of 16.

Hopefully that falls Saturday but the draft has already been memorable for Michigan football fans, just like winning the national championship.
