Police searching for female suspect wanted for shooting after women fight in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- No one was shot, but one woman was injured in a fight that led to gunfire in Ann Arbor on Thursday.

Ann Arbor Police said, as of Thursday afternoon, they were still searching for an armed suspect at large in connection with the incident earlier in the day in the 2700 block of Hikone Dr., in the area of Packard St. and Eisenhower Pky.

Officers responded to the area just before 11 a.m., after calls came in about shots fired.

According to a preliminary investigation, police said two women had gotten into a physical fight at the location before officers arrived.

During the altercation, another woman who was there pulled a gun and fired multiple shots.

Police said no one was hit by the gunfire, but one of the women involved in the initial fight was injured.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment, but her injuries were not belived to be life-threatening.

Police said the shooter, who has been identified, fled the scene before officers arrived. They are not naming her at this time, and her photo was not immediately released.

The Ann Arbor PD added that investigators have determined that this was not a random shooting, that the women involved knew each other, and there is not believed to be any threat to the public.
