Fire shuts down Benson Road in Angier

According to fire officials, two people were home when the fire started.

Angier Fire shuts down part of Benson Road

ANGIER, N.C. — A fire broke out Monday night at a home in Angier..

According to the Buies Creek Fire Department, the fire happened at 2265 Benson Road just before 9:30 p.m..

Two people were at home when the fire started, but were able to get out safely.

"Everything of value is in the front yard," the homeowner said. "All those people are more important than anything in that house."

Fire crews from five different departments responded to the structure fire, and efforts to put the fire out closed Benson Road.

The fire department marked the fire under control at 10:45 p.m..

The Red Cross is standing by to help those affected.
