The long remodel of Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen into Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio and Beignets Expressed has completed, and the new beignet shop has reopened in Downtown Disney District.
Beignets Expressed
Jazz Kitchen’s express window, famed for offering beignets to-go, was closed and converted into Beignets Expressed. Today, the popular spot re-opened in Downtown Disney District.
Signature hand-crafted beignets continue to be a staple, with an expanded menu including specialty glazed beignets that are dipped, drizzled and sprinkled in jazzy signature and seasonal flavor combinations. They also serve specialty drinks such as Frozen Mint Juleps.
The newly designed interior is bright white and pink and even includes a spot for you to watch part of the beignet making process.
We got a closer look at the beignet making process. As you can see, the baker has crafted many tiny beignet squares from a large chunk of dough.
If you’re a huge beignet fan and want to make your own at home, you could buy your very own Beignets Expressed beignet mix for $9.99.
There was also a section that featured t-shirts with the same color and theming as the newly remodeled Jazz Kitchen and Beignets Expressed. Many of the shirts featured vibrant designs and bright colors.
They have an assortment of t-shirts available from small to xx-large. They range in price from $25.00-28.00.
There are colorful posters on the wall featuring just a few of the beignets that they are famous for. In the top right picture, they have a Glazed Rainbow Crunch Beignet for Pride Month.
Near the register, they have a machine that dispenses the fan-favorite Frozen Mint Julep drinks.
They also have Coca Cola Freestyle machines that serve a large variety of soft drinks.
The floor mat has a modern, fresh design. We noticed it already had some powered sugar from the beignets on it
Many people arrived upon its reopening to grab their beignets. Although the space is on the smaller side, there’s still enough room to not feel cramped.
There’s also a very small patio space outside if you prefer to take your beignets on-the-go.
Jazz Kitchen Coastal Patio & Grill
The Jazz Kitchen’s remodeling and re-theming is finally complete. The intent of this new theming and approach to design was to give the restaurant a cleaner look and atmosphere of “vibrant California energy” — as the Kitchen’s menu also received updates in accordance with its renewed vision. The official Disneyland website has its own description of these changes on the restaurant’s page:

A sign with the new menu greets you as you walk to the newly-designed entrance.
This part of the menu features sharable appetizers, started, salads, Roux La La, and today’s main dishes.
Here we see everybody’s favorite — the dessert section of the menu. This page also includes specialty cocktails, beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, craft sodas, and High Noon hard seltzer.
There’s also a section for lunch, which is served daily from 11am-4pm. The lunch menu is small, but includes hearty dishes such as Lobster & Crawfish Remoulade Roll, French Quarter Po-Boy Dip, Pulled Pork & Bourbon Root Beer Onion Grilled Cheese, and Creole Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
