Julien performed well after being recalled to the majors May 20, slashing .286/.333/.500 with two homers and four RBI in 36 plate appearances. He'll be forced back to Triple-A due to the return of Jorge Polanco (hamstring), but the 24-year-old prospect will almost certainly be back with the Twins at some point this year if he continues to crush minor-league pitching.

The Twins will activate Polanco (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. A strained left hamstring sent Polanco to the injured list May 20, and he will return after spending little more than the minimum time on the IL. The 29-year-old infielder was seeing the ball extremely well prior to getting injured, slashing .316/.435/.737 with two homers and three RBI across his last five games. His return will send Edouard Julien back to Triple-A St. Paul.

Diaz went 1-for-2 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Twins. Diaz entered the game in the eighth inning with Houston down eight runs and slugged his second career home run. He continues to get only sporadic playing time behind Martin Maldonado behind the plate, as he's tallied 68 plate appearances despite sticking in the majors for the entire season.

Altuve temporarily turned the game around with his seventh-inning grand slam, giving Houston its first lead of the game. However, Minnesota eventually prevailed after the game went to an extra frame. Altuve missed the first seven weeks of the campaign after fracturing his thumb in the World Baseball Classic, but he hasn't missed a beat upon his return. He's hit safely in seven straight games and is slashing .355/.444/.645 with two homers, six RBI and seven runs overall through 36 plate appearances.

Mayfield (back) was seen taking some reps at right guard during 11-on-11 drills throughout last week's OTA practices, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. The Falcons' 2021 third-round pick missed the entire 2022 NFL season with a back injury, but he's back on the field after having moved past the health issue. During his rookie campaign, Mayfield started all but one game for Atlanta at left guard, but the team now has him taking snaps at right guard. He won't be starting over All-Pro right guard Chris Lindstrom, so it's most likely that Mayfield will serve as a depth piece for the Falcons' offensive line.
