IHSAA High School Boy’s Soccer Week Two Rankings
(Boone, IA) – The IHSAA has released its second official week of the high school boy’s soccer rankings. These rankings are compiled by the Iowa High School Athletic Association by a committee that includes former coaches, officials, and in-state youth club representatives. Starting this year, the rankings provide a primary tool for postseason assignments while maintaining school and geographic considerations. Local teams in Class 1A feature Treynor at #7 and Van Meter finishes things off at #9. In Class 2A, Gilbert sits at the #1 spot, Glenwood ranks #3 overall, and Perry finishes Class 2A off at #7. Iowa State WR Jason Essex announced on Tuesday he intends to enter the spring transfer portal. Essex, a Kansas City, Mo., native played just two seasons at Iowa State. Essex was a three-star recruit in the 2022 high school class and committed to Iowa as the No. 110 ranked receiver prospect in the country and the No. 12 player in Missouri. He signed with Iowa State over Power Conference interest from Colorado, Kentucky and numerous other Power Conference schools.
