Price Increases Approved for Geneva Ridge Homes
The Sturgeon Bay Common Council approved price increases for the homes being built in the Geneva Ridge subdivision on Sturgeon Bay’s west side. As outlined in the development agreement the city has with JPEJ to construct the “workforce” housing in Tax Increment District (TID) #10, the developer can make no more than two price adjustments per year that have to be agreed upon between the city and the developer.

Postal Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
The National Association of Letter Carriers will conduct its 32nd annual food drive on Saturday, May 11. To participate in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive, leave a sturdy, waterproof bag containing non-perishable foods next to the mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery early that morning. Sturgeon Bay-based carriers will distribute bags on Wednesday within the city of Sturgeon Bay, but not in rural areas.

New Aquatic Management Plan Approved in Sturgeon Bay
The City of Sturgeon Bay has a new five-year aquatic plant management plan for controlling the plants growing in the bay. The Common Council agreed Tuesday to approve the recommendation from the city’s Joint Parks and Recreation Committee and Board after the city’s Aquatic Plant Management Plan Revision Ad Hoc Committee met twice in March with Tim Hoyman, lead aquatic ecologist from Onterra, the firm hired by the city to update the plan.

For opening day at Heritage Village, Door County Historical Society has several activities scheduled May 18. During the opening day celebration, 10 am – 3 pm, events will include live music by local musicians, self-guided tours of historic buildings, blacksmith demonstrations and old-time outdoor games for the whole family.
