An 83-year-old man has been charged in a fatal shooting that took place Saturday in northeast Albuquerque.A spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department says Melquaides Garcia is accused of shooting his nephew, Stephen Garcia, after an argument inside their home on the 2900 block of Carlisle Boulevard NE.Melquaides Garcia told police his nephew had a history of being physically abusive toward him, and had stolen items from him as well. The two were drinking tequila on Saturday when Stephen Garcia attempted to take a generator that belonged to Melquaides Garcia. After an argument, Melquaides Garcia allegedly shot Stephen Garcia one time with a handgun. Stephen Garcia died from his injuries.Melquaides Garcia is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
