WAS BREAKING NEWS LAST NIGHT AT 10:00 AROUND 630 OFFICERS HEARD ABOUT A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE AT A HOME ON GLENDALE ROAD NEAR CENTRAL AND A TRESCO WHEN OFFICERS GOT THERE, THEY FOUND A MAN, THEY SAY, WITH A GUN. POLICE TRIED TO GET HIM TO DROP THE WEAPON AND THEN THEY SAY SHOTS WERE FIRED. IT’S UNCLEAR HOW MANY OFFICERS FIRED OR IF THE MAN FIRED AT THEM. NO ONE WAS HURT. One person in custody in northwest Albuquerque incident

A "domestic disturbance," in which gunshots were heard Tuesday night, led to a shooting involving an Albuquerque Police Department officer.Around 6:30 p.m. police got a call about a dispute in the area of the 4700 block of Glendale Rd NW. Officers learned about 20 minutes later a man was armed with a rifle.That man has been identified as 32-year-old Francisco Macias.Once on scene officers found Macias with a firearm in his possession. Officers gave commands to drop it. Then shots were fired. It's unknown at this time how many officers fired. It's also unknown if Macias fired at officers.Police said Macias tried to run away, where a bystander wrestled the firearm out of the man's hands. The bystander reported to officers that Macias threw the firearm over a fence during the altercation. Police say Macias ran away again. Officers then found him holding another bystander hostage, possibly in a choke hold. Police used less than lethal options and hands on tactics to get him into custody. His name has not been released.APD says no suspects are outstanding. They also said Macias was hit in the foot by a bullet fragment. He was transported to a hospital before being cleared and booked into the Metro Detention Center.They also say no one was hit by gunfire and no injuries were reported.Officers and detectives with the Multi-Agency Task Force are investigating.
