The workers at a unionized Albuquerque Starbucks went on a ten-hour strike starting at 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to strike coordinator Madz Dazzo.
Starbucks Workers United coordinated the strike at the 1000 Rio Grande Blvd NW location.
Workers there celebrated the outgoing of Starbucks Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz, who was recently replaced by current CEO Laxman Narasimhan. The Albuquerque location was a part of dozens of Starbucks stores that went on strike.
They also demanded full staffing, the right to organize and the ability to have contract negotiations. The protest was held from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
