Plans Coming To Light About Proposed Solar Farm In North Whitman County
PULLMAN - Plans are coming to light about a proposed 900-acre solar farm in North Whitman County. The Whitman County Planning Commissioners will be hearing from a company called Daystar Renewable Energy during their meeting in Colfax on Wednesday night. The planning commission has begun discussions about potential restrictions on solar farms. This proposed project would be the first solar farm in Whitman County. Any possible restrictions on solar farms from the planning commission would require final approval from the Whitman County Commissioners.
27-Year-Old Clarkston Man Arrested Again For Eluding In Whitman County
COLFAX - A 27-year-old Clarkston man has been arrested again for eluding in Whitman County. The most recent incident occurred Saturday night in Pullman around 8:00. An officer tried to pull over a driver on Bishop Boulevard for suspicion of drunk driving. The driver reportedly failed to stop for the officer and sped off at high speed south out of town on Johnson Road.

Pullman PD Investigating Rash Of Car Burglaries
The Pullman Police Department is investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries. Officers responded to six vehicle burglaries on Saturday morning. Early Saturday morning police arrested a man for allegedly trying to burglarize a car on Military Hill. 20 year old Andrew Morrill of Pullman was arrested for 2nd degree vehicle prowl. Officers are trying to determine if Morrill was involved in the other car burglaries.

The Moscow Police Department (MPD) press log for December 5, 2023, recorded several incidents. The first incident was a welfare check at a Denny's on W Pullman Rd. A man had been sleeping there for 45 minutes, prompting a wellbeing check. An officer responded, but no report was filed.

Fire Damages Apartment In South Pullman
A two alarm fire damaged an apartment in South Pullman Friday afternoon. City of Pullman Firefighters responded to a fire alarm around Noon at the Riverview Apartments behind Pullman Regional Hospital. A small fire in the kitchen of a downstairs unit was quickly extinguished. Two Pullman Police Officers and an adult male suffered minor smoke inhalation and were treated and released on scene. The officers suffered the smoke inhalation while they were evacuating the apartment building. A female in a unit near the fire was rescued from her balcony as the heavy smoke kept her from escaping through the hallway.

More than 550 University of Idaho students to graduate during winter commencement
SPOKANE, Wash. - More than 550 students from the University of Idaho (U of I) are eligible graduate on Saturday. 391 bachelor’s degrees, 140 master’s degrees, 29 doctorates, 12 juris doctorates, four associate degrees and two specialist degrees will be awarded to 555 students. Twenty-nine academic certificates are eligible for completion.

Pullman Fire Department Accepting Donations for Families in Need
Pullman Fire Department is accepting donations for families in need now through December 17. Donations can be non-perishable food items, toys, and winter wear. All items will be taken to the Community Action Center or Pullman Child Welfare at the end of the donation period. Items can be dropped off at Station 1 in Pullman through December 17 at 3.
