Employees of an Albany business held down a driver for Linn County deputies after he crashed through a door on Monday and injured one of their co-workers.
Reports first came in at about 4:20 p.m. Monday of a driver hitting someone with an SUV at a business in the 38000 block of Mason Road.
Deputies arrived to find several employees of the business holding down a man in the parking lot.
They learned that the man, later identified as 55-year-old Robert France of Alamogordo, New Mexico, drove his green 1997 GMC Yukon through a man door and ran over an employee.
That employee was taken to Salem hospital and later transferred to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland “due to the seriousness of his injuries.”

France then allegedly got out of the vehicle and threatened another employee inside the business with a knife. That employee was also later treated for a knife wound at Albany General.
Other employees managed to subdue France so deputies could make an arrest. He was booked into the Linn County Jail on first-degree assault, and officials say he could face other charges.
