Firefighters respond to late-night Madison Avenue blaze

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Firefighters and police officers responded to a fire at 858 Madison Avenue Sunday night around 10:24 p.m. Albany fire chief Joseph Gregory says while the fire quickly spread to neighboring buildings, no one was injured.

Chief Gregory says the point of origin for the fire is believed to come from the second floor of 858 Madison Avenue. In total, the fire was out in two hours and 42 minutes.

The intersection was closed for some time while crews investigated Sunday evening. Police were on the scene Monday morning, monitoring the area.

The fire is still under investigation.
