Mets owner Steve Cohen spotted with NY Gov. Hochul at Citi Field as casino bid looms

Mets owner Steve Cohen and Gov. Kathy Hochul were spotted together this week watching the Amazins beat the Phillies at Citi Field – even as the hedge fund billionaire is partnering with Seminole Hard Rock on a bid for state approval to open a casino next to the ballpark.

“Wonderful seeing Governor @KathyHochul, @StevenACohen2, and everyone who came out to #CitiField in support,” tweeted Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz Friday while posing for a photo with the governor and billionaire, both sporting Mets caps.

One Albany insider said the meet-and-greet looks “terrible” for both Hochul and Cohen.

“Anything with casinos involves plenty of scrutiny, so why would anyone put themselves in such a position?” said the insider.

Hochul’s office did not return messages.
