ALBANY, NY - The Albany Police Department is reportedly reviewing what happened in Madison Park Wednesday, May 31st around 5 p.m. that led to the arrests of two unidentified 16-year-olds.
According to police, an officer on his bicycle was approached by one 16-year-old who officers allege "engaged in an altercation" with the officer. Police have not provided any details on what that altercation may have involved.
Police say as the officer, and another officer at the park, took the teen into custody, a second 16-year-old approached. Police say that 2nd teen was also taken into custody.
The officer on the bicycle reportedly suffered injuries. Police say he was treated at a local hospital. The department says neither of the 16-year-olds was injured.
Both of the teens face charges. Police say they have been released as they await future court dates.
