Law enforcement across the Capital Region are investigating reports of threats made to several schools across the area.
According to Albany Police, reports of an active shooter were unfounded. Albany Police say there have been several swatting phone calls made around the area and statewide.
Schools including East Greenbush and Troy are all facing a similar situation and have gone into lockdown. Bell Top Elementary in North Greenbush was also affected, however they have since allowed students off buses and remain on lock out.
Troy police say they are on the scene at the Troy high school, where police say all students are safe. They say there have been no confirmed shots fired.
Saratoga Springs High School also a victim of swatting. Police say they school is safe with no credible threats.
Swatting is when used when a fake call is made to lure or report a fake crime to emergency responders.
