Quilts for Kids chapter marks 10,000 quilts made and delivered in a decade (WRGB)
RENSSELAER COUNTY, NY (WRGB) —
A big milestone at the Albany chapter for Quilts for Kids Sunday, they made their 10,000th quilt!

An event at the Rensselaer Elks Lodge an opportunity to celebrate hitting the 10,000th quilt being made and delivered, all in 10 years of work. The quilts are for children battling cancer, AIDS, and other life threatening illnesses who are in need. Representatives from Albany Med, Ronald McDonald House, and St. Paul in Rensselaer were there to receive a quilt -- which are all places that quilts for kids delivers to.
Chapter leader Karen Casey said,
"I just can't believe this many people, but the hardest part is that there's that many needed. So, I know I'm in this for 10 years but if there's one still needed, I will definitely still be here. So, I'm looking at another 10 years or maybe until I'm 90 but that's okay."
