Former Gov. David Paterson was back in Albany Friday.
To commemorate the 15th anniversary of him leading the Empire State, an historic building is now renamed in his honor.
The building at 42 Eagle Street houses the War Room Tavern, which we've recently profiled here on CBS 6.
The New York politics-themed establishment features menu items that were the favorites of presidents and New York state officials.
There are also hundreds of rare photos and other memorabilia from New York political history - including from Paterson’s administration.
Paterson was in office during the 2008 banking crisis and recession, and Friday reacted to the ongoing banking failures that have many worried of a repeat.
“The reckless schemes that the banking industry get into...economic hardship like in 2008.”
Paterson took over the governorship after Eliot Spitzer's resignation, becoming the first black and first legally blind governor in New York’s history.
