Chief Master Sgt. Michael Venning was removed from his position by Col. Billy Pope, the 81st Training Wing commander. The senior noncommissioned officer had been reassigned earlier this summer as officials investigated him. The command chief of the 81st Training Wing at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi was removed from his leadership role this week following an internal investigation into the senior noncommissioned officer, according to the Air Force.

Alamogordo High School vs Hobbs Friday Night Football Recap
The AlamogordoTownNews.org team was on site to witness Alamogordo High School Tigers hosting Hobbs Friday night at Tiger Stadium. Going into this weekend game the Tiger Varsity boys are coming off a rocky season start with a record of 1 and 4. They were successful in double overtime during their homecoming game, but lost while on the road last week at Organ Mountain in district. The second half of that game they found strength when they slowed Organ Mountain to only 19 total passing yards throughout the game.
