Heavy Rain Threat Brings 2 to 4 Inches to Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Orlando and Fort Pierce as a Developing Gulf Low Unleashes Florida’s First El Niño Fueled Storm

ORLANDO, FLORIDA — A heavy rain threat is building across Florida as the state’s first El Niño-fueled storm of the season moves in. Rain spreads in from a developing low pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico starting on Halloween, Saturday, October 31, and continues through Sunday, November 1. It is still tough to tell whether Central or South Florida will be the bullseye, but forecasts point to widespread totals of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated higher amounts. Some of the heaviest totals on the latest forecast map are along the Atlantic coast, with about 3.88 inches near the Space Coast, 3.76 inches near New Smyrna Beach and 3.45 inches near Fort Pierce.
