ASWA Baseball Rankings: Another week, another new No. 1 team in Class 7A

Another week, another shakeup in the Class 7A high school baseball rankings.

Tuscaloosa County bolted to the top in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll this week, leapfrogging Thompson and Bob Jones with a 5-0 week.

The Wildcats were 24-3 heading into Wednesday’s action. Thompson suffered its first four losses of the season after moving to No. 1 last week and fell one spot this week. Bob Jones is still third.

There also are two other new No. 1s this week. In Class 6A, Oxford switched places with reigning champion Hartselle. The Yellow Jackets are now 18-5. In 4A, Bayside Academy moved back to No. 1, but the Admirals face a tough test this week with an area series against No. 2-ranked UMS-Wright that started Wednesday night.
